Wow, from that title you’d probably expect quite a sad or negative post, huh? Well, it’s actually the opposite!
I’ve been working on myself for quite a long time now and although I’ve made progress in several fields, sadly on the subject of my self-esteem I still have a very long way to go. This sadly also caused me to turn away from Lolita. I’ve always continued to love the fashion, but on others and not on me.
However, something happened. One could even speak of a miracle! I saw some advertisements of Angelic Pretty in Spoon magazine, announcing their new Fall/Winter collection and I fell head over heels in love with one of their new prints. That same day I had a therapy session that was somewhat life-changing and before I knew it, I’d sent an email to my shopping service. The dress hasn’t been released yet by the time this post goes online, but I’m hoping soon!
The day after, I was meeting with some friends (keeping safe social distance) and I decided to dress up a little. Heck, I decided to wear a Lolita skirt and petticoat! The outfit I ended up with would probably be considered very casual Lolita, maybe not even that. But all I know is that it made me feel happy, like Lolita should. This was my outfit, I hope you like it!
So yes, I’ve worn a semi, sort of, casual Lolita outfit and have fallen in love with a dress again. It seems I’m taking a tiny step back into Lolita. Hopefully many more steps will follow.
Thank you for reading! ~☆~
That's wonderful to hear (though yes, the title was a bit misleading)! Self-esteem is a tricky thing, but I'm glad you're getting there ^__^
