DIY Lolita Easter Meet

On Saturday March 30th Cat and her friend Rebecca organised a new kind of Lolita meet up: a Lolita DIY Easter Meet (well, it was new to me, maybe not to others)! We would meet up in the city and then all go to Rebecca’s house together where we would have tea and make little accessories. It sounded like a lot of fun to me! ^^
Since the meet up was Easter themed, I decided to dress up in classic Easter colours: light pastels. In this case I chose pink and yellow, combined with white. I had made a coord in my head in advance with my pink Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Millefeuille jumperskirt, my offbrand white bolero, white ankle socks, pink shoes and some simple accessories. I decided to only wear a light petticoat, since it didn’t strike me as very handy to craft and sew in a big, poofy dress. I actually really liked it! It really showed my Millefeuille jumperskirt can also look really great wihout a (big) petticoat!
I decided to put my hair up in a crown braid, like my friend Emilie often does. I had a bit of a hard time getting it right. When I was at her place it was so easy! Now it took me a while, but I managed and I think it looked really nice with the outfit! ^^
Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling very well that morning, so I look a bit teary on my pictures. I hope you like my outfit though!

My outfit rundown:
♥ Bow- and Rose clips: Claire’s
♥ Bolero: NoaNoa
♥ Jsk: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright’s Millefeuille jumperskirt
♥ Socks: offbrand
♥ Shoes: An*Tai*Na
♥ Necklace: offbrand
♥ Bracelets: Claire’s and Chocomint
♥ Rings: Angelic Pretty and Six
As I was running late, I called Cat and told her I would meet the group at Rebecca’s house. When I arrived there, it turned out they were still in the city waiting for some of the other girls, so I decided to go there as well after all. We finally all met at the train station. There were some girls I had never met before, so that was a lot of fun! Once we were all gathered, Rowam gave us all a gift: a self made ring with an egg on it, to celebrate Easter! Unfortunately, the eggs came off a bit quickly, so we turned it into a game: who still has her egg by the end of the day?
We walked to the bus station where we waited for the right bus to come. While waiting, we did a quick introduction round. ^^ Then the bus arrived.
It didn’t take long to get to the right stop. After making sure everyone was present, we walked to Rebecca’s house, where we sat down at the big table and had tea. I chose a particularly nice flavour: strawberry and pomegranate. So good! ♥ We also had some sandwiches and Cat had made onigiri, which was really tasty!
Then we started crafting. Rebecca had gathered an impressive amount of fabrics, laces and other creative thingies to get crafty! She had also printed some tutorials we could follow if we wanted to. I quickly decided to make some bow clips, because it didn’t sound too hard and I just really like bows. ^^ As . I had never really sewn before, but this sounded manageable. Well, I can tell: I don’t have a sewing gift! XD It took me ages to finish one bow and it just looked so sad. In the end, one of the ‘new’ girls (Mairin) made two bows for me with her glue gun, which were perfect! Thank you again! ♥
After a while, we decided to take a break from the craftiness and take pictures in the garden. Despite the fact it was quite cold, we conquered the wind and took non-coat pictures!
Our hands, prints and shoes all together! ^^

After our photo session, we quickly went inside where we went crafting again. I decided I wanted to try to make a head band out of light pink chiffon. Cat had had the same idea, but with black chiffon.

The messy table! On the left you can see Tamara working on her set of gorgeous wristcuffs!

With Cat’s help I was able to make the head band after all! I was so proud and it looks really cute when worn!

The fruits of ‘my’ labour! ^^

After a while, it was time for me to go home. I thanked the girls for the wonderful afternoon and took my accessories with me. It had been such a wonderful day! Despite the fact I am not a very crafty person, I had loads of fun and even things I could take home with me! ♥

I love diy meetings but end up getting bored right in the middle of making something. I'm so lazy!

    1. Well thank you! O_O I am flattered you say so! I have lost quite a lot of hair during the last two years, so I am really happy you think it looks healthy (and 'amazingly styled', whoa)!
Haha, same for me! I was glad I had creative people around me!
