Lovely Poodle Appreciation

Happy New Year everyone! As this is my first post of 2021, I feel like I can still say that right? ^^ It seems the world is still on fire, but in my little corner of this planet I have something fun to talk about, so let's get to it.
Back in this post I talked about one of Angelic Pretty's prints, Lovely Poodle, that I had completely fallen in love with and how I ordered a new dress after such a long time. Well, finally it has arrived, after being stuck in my own country for who knows how long and I am absolutely in love with it! So despite having done an extensive review of this series, I'm going to talk about Lovely Poodle even more! ♥

I received the package last Tuesday and did a live unboxing on my Instagram! Despite my nervousness it was really fun. You can still watch the video on my profile if you like. ^^
This dress is honestly everything I've wanted and more. It has a gorgeous, sort of dutsy pink colour and I think it's a bit longer than my other dresses, or at least it gives off that vibe.

The bodice has a heart-shaped neckline, lined with frills. I put it on my mannequin with a frilly shirt, which I think complements it nicely. Because of the heart-shape, longer and more ornate necklaces look really lovely with it, as you can see.
Down the bodice there are no less than four lavender bows; one at the top with long ribbons, two underneath it and one bigger one on the waist.

I was quite excited about the little belt I had seen on the promo pictures, but seeing it in real life and up close made me even happier. The belt is made of delicate rose lace, looped with the same lavender ribbon as the bows. It's so dainty, I adore it!

Then, of course, the print. Honestly, the print is everything I imagined, mostly because the promo pictures were very clear and the print is vibrant enough to really stand out on pictures. There's three main poodles in white, pink and lavender and adorned with bows, accompanied by a poodle lamp, a phone, a love letter, a pillow, paintings and scattered pearls, all in front of a background of stripes, swirly decoration and bows. There's even a tiny plushie version of the lavender poodle! As this is a border print, the upper part of the dress consists of big polka dots and the silhouettes of the poodles.

These are the three main poodles. Aren't they just super cute? ;0; I've decided to name them. The white poodle, with her cute pink bows and fluffy tail, is named Rosalia. The pink poodle, with her pearl necklace, bows and blue eyeshadow, absolutely looking like a queen, is named Charlotte. The lavender poodle, who looks slightly derpy with its little tongue sticking out is named Philip. I love them all as if they were my children.

I love Angelic Pretty's lace in general but this dress has freaking poodle lace! Are you kidding me!? Look at the little fluffy babies, I adore them! ;0;

I ordered the headbow with the dress and it matched it so well! Of course it has the same colour, but it's a side bow little frills along the hems, which I think suits the dress really well. And it has a silver bow charm as well!

So yes, to say that I am absolutely head over heels in love with dress is not an overstatement. I think it's stunning and I am so grateful to my past self for deciding to order this dress after thinking I had lost my love for Lolita. I definitely feel motivated to try my best and step back into the fashion again! ♥

Promenade de Paris

A little intermission between my Paris posts (there are four more to come, I hope you’re not bored yet), because I wanted to show you something that makes me really happy! On Tuesday, July 24th, my package from my shopping service chibi_tenshi arrived! After tracking my package for several days (Japan post is sooo much faster than in my own country) the postman finally delivered my long-awaited dress to me! I was just about to run some errands, so I was glad I didn’t leave one minute earlier! Of course I just had to unpack my package immediately, while my mom took pictures of my super excited face. When I pulled the dress out of the plastic, I couldn’t help but smile so big! The dress was amazing, even prettier than I remembered! I ran upstairs to dress up Dolly (my mannequin) and then left to run the errands after all. Of course, when I got back it was picture time!

I am so incredibly happy to own this dress! It feels like we were meant to be together, haha! I can’t wait to wear it!

What I really like about this dress is that it’s totally my style, but I probably would never have bought it. Now I got it as a gift! *_* I will cherish this dress forever!

Jewelry Berry and Milky Jelly

Every Lolita has a (little) wishlist of dresses somewhere. Whether it’s saved to her computer or printed on a piece of paper that she hides under her pillow, so she can dream about them at night. And she promises herself: one day I will own every single one of these dresses on this piece of paper!
Of course, every Lolita’s list is different. I have seen lists consisting entirely of black Moitié dresses to lists filled with Innocent World pieces.

My personal wishlist consists almost entirely of Angelic Pretty print dresses (beside two Baby, the Stars Shine Bright jumperskirts), like many other Sweet Lolita lists. I am often looking through the pictures, making up coords or occasions to wear them. To be honest, I think my list is a bit too big (‘One print in four colours!?’ No, calm down, this just means I love the print in each colour!), but there are always those absolute dream pieces, the dresses I like to call the Ultimate Dream Dresses.

I can say that I have been extremely lucky these past two months, since I somehow managed to buy two of my Ultimate Dream Dresses! Can you believe it? I still can’t completely comprehend it. Of course I worked hard and paid for them myself, but it still feels like someone has send me some wonderful gifts, although it didn’t go without any trouble. Follow me in my flashbacks, if you like to~..!

Since a couple of months (I think only a few weeks after I returned from Tokyo. No, I am not done with my reports, I know. I’m sorry! T___T) I have been hooked to Japanese auction sites. Although I can barely read anything other than prices I still love looking at what people offer. And Google Translate helps a lot. Some things are up for ridiculous prices (Chess Chocolate for more than 500 euros/650 dollars!?), but often there are some really tempting offers.
Around Christmas I noticed a Jewelry Jelly jumperskirt in mint (my favourite) with head bow for a price I thought was pretty fair, but I didn’t think about buying it. Yet a couple of days later the dress still hadn’t left my mind. To be honest, I had expected somehow that I would find a Jewelry Jelly dress in Tokyo. Before I went, I tried to have no expectations and just go with the flow, but somehow I was expecting there would be some Jewelry Jelly at Closet Child, but I haven’t seen any other than a skirt. I looked at the dress again and after some doubting I decided to just go for it!
I used the wellknown shopping service Japonica Market, a service that buys or bids on Japanese auction sites for you. I used them once before, but unfortunately I wasn’t very familiar with their services yet and I lost the auction, which made me a bit wary. The Jewelry Jelly dress wasn’t up for auction though, but for ‘buy it now’. I decided to read Japonica Market’s services thoroughly again and just went for it.
Japonica Market bought the dress for me and a few days later they sent me another invoice for the shipping costs. I could track my package and it came to me in exactly two weeks. When I saw a big white van stopping in front of my house, my heart skipped a beat and I ran downstairs. My mom opened the door and wanted to take the package from the mailman, but she couldn’t take it just yet. First we had to pay the custom fee! When I heard the price, I screamed ‘What!?’
I can’t even tell you how high the price was. God, I was so angry! I searched the entire house for money and we managed to gather the amount, but oh was I pissed! I didn’t even open the package until the evening, I was so upset! We tried to get the money back, but it didn’t work out. I was so angry with the system!
Anyway, in the evening I sat down on my bed, breathed the anger away and carefully opened the package. And I’ll have to admit that my fury melted away as soon as I saw the dress and took it out of the package. It was perfectly folded and wrapped in plastic, together with the head bow. And you may call me crazy, go ahead, but it smelled so nice too! It had that typical Angelic Pretty dress-smell on it and I instantly flashbacked to trying on dresses at Closet Child. I swear, Angelic Pretty dresses smell so nice!
I hung the dress on my closet and admired the beautiful print, that even has glitter on it! When other Lolitas described their Jewelry Jelly dresses, the always said it has glitter, but cameras can’t really capture it well. Now I could finally see it for myself! Of course I took some pictures of my new, beautiful dress too!

Did I mention I got a new photocamera for my birthday? I love it to death and I’m trying to take more creative pictures with it. ^^
The pictures were taken in the evening, so the light isn’t perfect, but oh well. When I see pictures of Jewelry Jelly, the print often appears slightly orangey to me, but I think my pictures do it justice.
I finally have my beautiful Jewelry Jelly and in the exact colour I wanted! It’s absolutely gorgeous and I’ll make sure I will wear it in a beautiful coord!

So that’s Ultimate Dream Dress #1. Let’s continue with #2!

If you follow me on Tumblr you might have noticed my love for the print Milky Berry. Ever since it came out I am in deep love with this print, especially with the mint version of the halterneck jumperskirt. I just love the striking red of the print at the border with the soft colour mint. Every time I look at a picture of it, my heart pounds a little faster. I don’t see this print worn very often and if someone posts pictures of it, 90% of the time it’s one of the other colours. Milky Berry is really on the top of my list! In Tokyo I bought the barrette in mint, as a promise to myself that I would buy the dress one day (I was hoping for good luck, just like the time with my Star(ry) Night Theater jumperskirt).
I had seen Milky Berry for sale on one of the auction sites two times already, but I didn’t buy it. But when I saw it in an auction last week that lasted only a couple of days, I started doubting. It also had the headbow! Since no one had made an offer on the dress yet, I decided to buy it after all. It was the day before the auction ended, so writing a mail to Japonica Market and sending the money gave me some trouble and stress. I didn’t want to be too late! Luckily, Japonica Market helped me wonderfully and really fast and I ended up winning the auction!
One of my Lolita friends on Facebook told me to ask Japonica Market to mark the price down. I had heard of it before but I didn’t know what it meant at the time (‘Marking down? Is that like bargaining?’ Yeah, that’s what I thought). She told me that Japonica Market could just write a different price on the package, so the customs wouldn’t know how expensive the dress really is. Of course, when the pakage gets lost, you don’t get much money back. Since the system works differently here (refunding is based on weight, not value) I didn’t really mind and I asked Japonica Market to mark the price down. I received my tracking code and they sent the package on the 21st of February. I received it yesterday, only five days later!
When I heard a car and saw it was a big, white van I asked my mom to open the door (it’s not that I was walking around in pajamas and bathrobe or something) and I listened behind the door. When she was talking to the mailman my heart was racing like mad! But… no custom fee! When my mom walked through the door, she smiled and handed me the package. Which was, by the way, really small and light! I was a bit shocked to be honest. Did a dress really fit into that small packing? But, as my mom said: ‘Well, Asians know how to pack things small right?’ XD I was like ‘I guess.’
I opened the package (with some careful effort) and there it was: my beautiful mint Milky Berry halterneck jumperskirt with headbow! Oh my God, it’s so pretty~! I love it sooo much! Of course, I hung it on my closet, examined it, posted a happy message on Facebook and Tumblr and then grabbed my camera to take pictures of it!

I think the pictures came out surprisingly well! It must have been an interesting sight to see me lying on the ground to take pictures from a lower angle.
I guess buying the barrette gave me good luck indeed. ^^ You have no idea how beautiful it is… Although the pictures really do it justice, it’s even more beautiful in real life. I can’t wait to wear it!

I am in absolute love with both my dresses! I told myself: ‘No more dresses for a while now!’, since I am saving up. I haven’t told you this, since I am still working on my reports (I am working hard on them, shush now!), but I am probably going back this year! My mom told me she really wants to go too after seeing our pictures and listening to our stories! So I’m really hoping the plans will continue…
I really want to wear Lolita in the streets of Tokyo, it’s like a dream come true! Milky Berry in the streets of Harajuku… Jewelry Jelly in the Angelic Pretty shops… ♥

QutieLand Review: Shoes, Shoes, and a Petticoat

Last Friday I finally received my package from QutieLand! About three months ago I ordered my first two pairs of Lolita shoes and my first petticoat! I was really looking forward to receiving them and Friday was finally the day. The only unpleasant surprise was the extra fee I had to pay, but the contents of the package totally made up for it. ^^
I always love to to read reviews and now I’ll finally be able to write my own, so prepare!
Since I ordered three items, I’ll tell you about the ordering-shipping-deliveringproces first.

Ordering:The ordering was very easy. All I had to do was choose a size and color and add the items to my cart. I also had to give them my sizes, but not all of them were relevant in this case (like bustsize). I checked my cart about a hundred times (I wanted to be ab-so-lu-te-ly sure everything was right), but it was really easy. The site is in English, so no trouble with translating.

Shipping: As soon as I placed my order I got an email with estimated time before delivering and a couple of days later one with my tracking number. I could follow my order from being made to being shipped to the seller. After a couple of weeks, my shoes were still in the ‘being made’ stage, so I emailed QutieLand about it. I quickly got an email back, telling me the items were already shipped out and they apolgized. A day later I got my second tracking number. From there, my package arrived within no time!

Communication: I got quick and polite responses to my emails. I always got satisfying answers (I’ve emailed them before my order too).


Well, onto the items! ^^ First my pair of black An*tai*na AP Style Traditional Tea Party Low Heel Shoes.

Quality: They are sturdy I think and very pretty. ^^

Product as described: They are a tiny bit higher than I expected, but that was my own mistake: I measured 4,5 cm wrong (stupid me). Although they look shiny on my picture, they aren’t in real life, it’s just the flash. They are mat, like described.

Opinion: I looooove them! I’ll admit I was terrified they wouldn’t fit me somehow, but they do and they feel so comfortable! I love the detachable straps and the heart buckles so much! I am very happy with them!


Secondly, my pair of pink An*tai*na AP Style Traditional Tea Party Shoes.

Quality: Sturdy and very pretty. ^^

Product as described: They are exactly like on the picture and even better! The color is gorgeous and a very Angelic Pretty-like pink.

Opinion:These shoes are love! They fit me superwell and are so comfortable! The color is gorgeous and exactly like I hoped. I am superhappy I bought them! ^^


And finally, my white Classical Puppets petticoat.

Quality: Soft, fluffy, and poofy! ^^

Product as described: The petticoat is as I expected. It has three lines of soft fabric and an elastic waistband that fits comfortably. There’s a cotton ‘underskirt’ underneath the fabric.

Opinion: O my God, my very first petticoat! When I put it on, my first reaction was: ‘It’s so poofy! Is that normal..?’ (A poofy petticoat being poofy, ahem).
It’s very soft and feels very comfortable. After a bit of doubting, I decided to try it underneath my Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Sugar Rose Cake skirt and this is the result:

Poof! I love it! I walked around for about half an hour in joy until I realised I should probably take it off again. XD I apologize for the… lacking of a coordinate. I still don’t have everything to create a full outfit. But that day will come!

Overall experience: I’ll definitely buy from QutieLand again! They are always friendly and quick with responses and their products definitely were what I expected, and even more! ^^

Building Up My Wardrobe With Fantasic Socks

First of all, I want to apologize for the lack of entries. School and tests are blocking my inspiration and free time quite a bit. I know it’s my own fault for taking so much classes, but still: a girl needs to complain sometimes.

Well, between all the studying and practising for oral exams, I received a new package from Sendai, Japan! ^^

The girl who sold it on egl_comm_sales picked them up especially for me (yay)! They are so cool! I mean: Eiffeltowers + bows + sparkles + pink? Perfect! <3 I’m afraid that’s it for now. I have some articles in my head I want to write, but that will be after testweek (aka Thursday). Have a nice week, everyone! ^^

Starry, Starry Night...

In my previous post, I mentioned I got my second package and I could barely keep myself from writing about it. Well, three days passed and I think it’s a good time now!

I know I write a lot about Paris and this time is no exception, so please bear with me. :) Maybe you remember that I wrote about visiting the Angelic Pretty story, where they had my absolute Dream Dress: the Starry Night Theatre One Piece in pink.
When I started Lolita, this particular dress caught my eye. In the meantime, I’ve seen a lot of dresses, but I could never forget the Starry Night Theatre. So when I had it in my hands in Paris, for a moment I thought my dream would come true.
Unfortunetaly, my dream fell into pieces when it turned out it didn’t fit me. I wisely decided not to buy the dress. Yet, I did buy the head bow, promising myself that very moment, that one day I’d buy my Dream Dress, but in JSK version.

Ok, enough with the flashbacks. Two months or so have passed. In the meantime, I got addicted to egl_comm_sales. I just love to check what people are selling!
One day, my eye caught a post that said Starry Night Theatre and I automatically clicked it. Then, pictures of a pink JSK, covered in cute little thingies appeared. The girl in question sold her SNT in pink for a (in my opninion) very reasonable price!
My eyes widened for a moment, but I immediately came back to my senses: I couldn’t afford it anyway. I walked downstairs and showed my mother the post, more or less to get it off me.
‘Why don’t you ask it for your birthday then?’ my mom asked. At first I thought she meant it as a joke, but then I realised she was serious! I immediately ran upstairs to email the girl and as kif it was still free.
After a while I go tan email back: there had been a person before me, who also wanted to buy the dress. The seller had put it on a hold for a week for the girl, but promised me to keep me updated on the situation.
Two days or so I had a nervous feeling in my stomach and I couldn’t really sleep, but then I realised I wouldn’t buy it. There would be another opportunity some other time. I hoped.
Then, that Friday, I got a new email: the buyer got a new chance. If she hadn’t paid before Tuesday, I would be the next person to buy it. Again, tow days of nervousness and sleepingproblems.
Mondayevening, I received this email:
Hello!
You'll be happy to hear that the last buyer was unable to make it in time, so the JSK has been passed on to you! =)
If you would be so kind as to tell me your paypal address, I'll send an invoice over right away.
Congrats~
I died of happiness!
I ran downstairs and jumped, danced and ran around (my parents gave me quite a strange look at first XD). Then the next part came: convincing my father. I hadn’t spoken about the situation to him, because I didn’t expect I would be able to buy it. Eventually, my father said yes!
Two weeks later, I received a wellpacked package.

May I present to you my absolute Dream Dress, the Starry Night Theatre JSK!

Isn’t it gorgeous? I can’t tell you how happy I am to own it! I love everything about it, from the lace to the buttons and from the details of the print to the golden edges. It’s just magical! It even has a built-in petticoat, so awesome!
I have to be honest though: it doesn’t fit me right yet. But now I have even more motivation to be a good girl with my diet! I can’t wait for the day I will fit into it perfectly!
I could talk for hours about this dress, but I won’t. Instead, here are some more pictures! ^^

For Rainy And Sunny

In my previous post, I kind off fell into ranting about the postal system here. I’ve calmed down in the meantime, of course. ^^ And luckily, my cold seems to have gone down again (after drinking tea and a lot of sniffing).

After I came home from musiclessons last Monday, I could finally open my package! It was a long, triangle-shaped package from… Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Paris!
After examining the package I somehow managed to find out how I could open it (it was really easy, just rip of the upper side). And what did I pull out? My brand new pink Rich Frilled Umbrella (for rainy and sunny)!

When I was at BtSSB Paris, my mom wanted to buy me a holidaypresent. I could choose between a head bow and a parasol/umbrella. In the end, I chose the head bow, but at home, I realised the umbrella had been so lovely too!
Back to reality
I decided, after I had earned some money with delivering mail, that I really wanted the umbrella after all. I checked that night if it was still available. Yet the next day, the site said ‘vendu’, sold. I was very disappointed, and mailed the shop if they could order one from Japan. I was happy to hear that they indeed could order from Baby Japan. After a month of waiting they received my umbrella and sent it to me. Now I have my own Baby's Umbrella from Japan, via Paris. Weird, isn’t it? ^^

The packing was absolutely lovely. It looked like a giant candy! Of course, there was a little Baby ribbon attached and they had put an AatP bag around it! When I pulled it off, I also found Baby’s Autumn Catalog and a postcard. I secretly hoped for the catalog to come with my package, but I never expected it to actually be there!

I am really happy with my umbrella! I love how it looks like a closed flower when I wrap it up. When it’s opened, it’s even more beautiful!

And today, I received a second package. I'll keep it a secret until tomorrow or the day after, but I am very excited about it! I can barely keep my fingers from writing it..!

Why I Hate The Postal Service

I want to start this entry with thanking the people that commented on my previous entry. Thank you so much! You have no idea how happy you made me! I really started crying from happiness that total strangers felt with me, thank you!

The past few days, or better: weeks, have been a rollercoaster of emotions for me. Mostly sad ones, unfortunetaly, but luckily there was a little bright side too. Three ones actually, for I have ordered three packages: two from France and one from Canada (!!!). I won’t say what they contain, I don’t want to spoil the surprise. But let’s just say I am really looking forward to them!
I have no idea when or in what order they will arrive, so I was really surprised when I found a letter in the mail yesterday, saying the postman had been there to deliver one, but we weren’t at home. Normally, he would deliver it to the neighbours so I could pick it up, but this time he didn’t. This made me quite angry, because we usually take a lot of packages from the neighbours when they’re not home, but that one time we are not at home, they don’t take it. The letter said they’d try again the next day (aka today), so I wanted to make sure I’d be home this time.

Yet unfortunetaly, I really had to go away for two hours, so I asked the neighbours that live across the street if they’d be home those hours. They said yes, so I hung a note on the door, asking the postman if he could deliver it to them. Feeling happy I left.
Of course the package would be delivered in those small two hours. I didn’t expect anything else. When I arrived home, I found a new letter, saying the postman had been there again and we weren’t at home. Yet, he didn’t deliver it to the neighbours across, because me or my parents have to sign for it!
If he just said that in the first note, I would have stayed at home! Now I have to pick it up the next working day (that’s Monday, aaargh!) after 1 pm. Yet, like any normal teenager, I’m a school then until 4:15 pm, so I have no change to go and pick it up. I was very glad that my mom offered to pick it up instead.

I can’t say it differently: I’m really pissed off! And to make things even better: this afternoon I got sick…
I should look up those tips on other blogs for sick lolitas…
