2020 in Lolita Flatlay Coords

We're at the brink of leaving 2020 behind and stepping into 2021. I think it's safe to say that 2020 has been a particularly crappy year for all of us, so I'm not regretful leaving it behind. Naturally, it's not as if all problems solve itself January 1st, but with positivity on the horizon I'd like to try and stay a bit positive myself too (although it's been damn challenging lately).

I haven't looked back upon the past year since 2016 and starting to do it again now might seem a bit of an odd moment, but here's the thing. I admit I haven't worn much Lolita this year. In fact, I've only worn one actual Lolita outfit this year and it was in only in the last month, but it's still more than in 2019. XD However, thanks to my friend Emilie, I've started doing a lot more flatlay coords! So much so, that I ended up with 16 flatlay coords since starting at the beginning of May. Back then, a lot of Lolitas were doing remote twin coords on Instagram and Emilie asked me if I wanted to join her, but as I didn't feel comfortable enough to wear any dresses, she suggested we did twin flatlays. Since then, I've tried to post flatlays regularly, sometimes with delight, sometimes a little forced, but always with lovely results. I'm fairly proud of my work and decided to put them all into one post here, to prove to myself that 2020 wasn't all bad. At least, not in terms of (flatlay) Lolita outfits!

So here they are, my 16 Lolita coords of 2020!

Looking at these outfits fills me with a sense of pride and happiness. I hope I can continue this personal trend in 2021, or even better: actually wear some of them. Happy New Year everyone!

Angelic Pretty 2020 Online Christmas Tea Party

On Sunday December 13th I attended Angelic Pretty Paris' online Christmas Tea Party, called 'Fairy Snow Party'. Covid-19 and pandemic aside, it had been a really long time since I'd worn full Lolita and attended anything, so it was quite a big deal for me. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I wasn't able to wear the outfit I had officially planned on the day, so with my hair and make up already done, I had to come up with a different coord as fast as I'd never done before. I ended up wearing Cameo Window again, in a simple yet elegant way. Despite the rush, I was really happy with how it turned out! I hope you like my first outfit in ages. ^^

My outfit rundown:
Crown: offbrand
Cardigan: Axes Femme
Necklace: offbrand
Jsk: Angelic Pretty’s Cameo Window
Bracelet: offbrand
Tights: offbrand
Shoes: Bodyline
The Tea Party started at 5 pm, but the chatroom was open before that. Although I was really nervous, I went into the room before starting time and even ended up chatting a bit! That was very nice.
At 5 pm, the Tea Party started and we were welcomed by Taka and Emilie from Angelic Pretty Paris. Unfortunately, the first twenty minutes were filled with technical problems, especially with sound, but as I could imagine the organizers must have been so stressed, I waited patiently. In the end, they appeared again, with a microphone, and everything ran smoothly after that. ^^
Taka and Emilie toasting together with all the virtual guests!

We got to see videos of Angelic Pretty designers Maki and Asuka greeting us and we got an exclusive look at the fashion show showing off Angelic Pretty's new designs for the upcoming year. It was really fun to watch and chat with the guests at the same time. There are some absolutely amazing things coming up, so keep an eye out! My favourite outfit was a pastel pirate Lolita look, complete with tricorn!
We then got to see videos where Maki and Asuka talked a bit about a few designs coming up together with models Misako Aoki, Risa Nakamura and Rinrin Doll. As the fashion show video was an exclusive one just for us, I can't show any pictures of course, but Rinrin shared the following pictures on her Twitter, so I'm sure these are fine!

First they talked about the new prints as seen in the picture above. I really like the versatility between these looks, from Misako's elegant flower look to Risa's summery country look to Rinrin's cute pop look. I especially love Rinrin's cap, even though that design is usually one I dislike!

Then they talked about some re-releases, as seen in the picture above. Especially the news that Sugary Carnival will be released again was met with a lot of worldwide excitement! ^^
After that we had a bingo (I didn't win anything sadly) and contests for the best Christmas decoration, food and outfits. We could all send in pictures beforehand and the staff would choose their favourites. My friend Marina ended up winning best decoration, which was absolutely deserved!
Here are the pictures I sent in for decoration, of my little pink tree called (Jingle) Bella, and food.

By then, the Tea Party was coming to an end and it was announced that every attendant would receive a 10 euros discount code for their next purchase and receive a special Lovely Poodle keychain with their purchase. The discount code was later changed to 20 euros, because of the trouble with the technical difficulties, which I think was very kind.
Even though I had some setbacks with my outfit, I'm glad I ended up participating, because I had a lot of fun, in the safety of my home.

Lovely Poodles Are Comin' Our Way!

Hi everyone! Happy International Lolita Day - Winter Edition! I hope you managed to have a nice day if you were celebrating, or just in general of course. ^^

For a while, I wasn't paying too much attention to Angelic Pretty's new releases. That is; if a new release passed me by on for example Instagram or Facebook I would take a look and perhaps comment on it, but it wasn't more than that. That is, until recently, when I fell in love with one of the prints that was announced in a magazine: Lovely Poodle. After that, I checked Angelic Pretty's social medias religiously every Thursday, but the print didn't show up. Until now! Last Thursday, at last this very-much-catered-to-my-interest print was announced for release! As I love it so much, I'd like to take this opportunity to talk about the print, colours and cuts of the dresses.
First we have the One Piece. I immediately fell in love with this print as I love dogs. Unfortunately, if a Lolita brand releases a dog print, most of the time it's poodles. However, I actually really love poodles! And aren't these poodles especially super cute!? I absolutely love them! ;0; ❤️ I really like how the poodles have different colors and how the color of one of the poodles is reused in the bows in the print and in the bow on the collar. Although I wouldn't necessarily think of Lovely Poodle as a winter print, the OP, with its long sleeves and closed collar, looks quite cozy for winter. It also has very visible pockets, which I adore, and a belt with a bow. Somehow this dress feels a little retro style to me and I love it!
Then we have the Jumperskirt. Here we have the same print of course and here too the color of one of the poodles is being reused in the bows on the print and in the multiple bows on the chest. Contrary to the OP, this dress actually feels rather summery to me, with its broad straps and frilly hem. It also has a belt-like look, but here it seems there's a ribbon laced through, which I absolutely adore! ❤️ Also, to my great delight, it has full shirring! Looking at Angelic Pretty's recent releases, a lot of them only have partial shirring, which is not as plus size friendly as people might think.

I haven't fallen in love with an Angelic Pretty print like this in a long time and ended up reserving the pink JSK and headbow through a shopping service the same afternoon I saw it. Waiting for the release was so frustrating, aaah! But it seems my shopping service managed to get the items for me! I can't wait to receive them! ;0;

It's been a long time since I was this enthusiastic over a Lolita brand release. I've been quite out of it, so I'm wondering: have there been any releases in 2020 that enchanted you? Did you manage to buy one or did they end up on your wishlist? Do tell me please! ^^
