Flatlay ♥ Roses in summer

♥ Roses in summer ♥

Today’s flatlay coord was posted on May 11, 2020 with the following caption:

Roses in summer. 🌹✨
Thanks to my flatlay twin with @rubanrose_emilie, I was inspired to make flatlay coords again! 💕 As I have accumulated a lot of really amazing accessories, bags and shoes over time, I decided to try and make coords based on some of those items. This coord is based around this lovely hat I ordered a while ago, combined with a pink rose clip from @summertalesboutique. I imagine wearing this outfit while strolling through a rose garden in early summer and being covered in roses myself. 💖

As I wrote when I posted this, I want to try and create coords around certain accessories or pieces of clothing, to give them a bit more attention. I was cleaning up a little while ago and realised just how many amazing items I have accumulated over a long period of time. Even if my self-esteem holds me back, I can still make them shine in flatlay coords, right?
Whoa, I am really loving this outfit! It feels very ‘casual princess’ to me, which is a style I really like for non-event coords: not too over-the-top, but still elegant and colourful. Lady Rose is an absolutely stunning dress by itself, but by draping the blouse over the straps it looks even more elegant, don’t you think? The hat is not too big, which gives it a casual country vibe, but the lace makes it looks classier and by adding the big pink roses I think it looks just so sweet! Small rose accessories and elegant, pink heels really top this look off. Now to only find the perfect, matching parasol…

Spellbound Outfits

Back in October 2018 I attended the Spellbound event organised by Katie of Summer Tales Boutique and her team. Usually when it comes to events I write big, extensive reports accompanied by lots of pictures. However, unfortunately this event took place quite a long time ago, so my memories of it are a bit warped, plus I didn’t take enough pictures to bring everything back. Initially, I thought about not writing about it at all, but since this weekend was the last time I wore Lolita until, well, now, I wanted to share my outfits here on my blog anyway. I hope you like them!

The main event of Spellbound took place on Saturday October 20, 2018 with designers Babi and Kaie of Triple Fortune as the guests of honor. My friend Emilie had come over from Switzerland to stay with me and attend this event, which was absolutely amazing! I had a really lovely and fun time with her. ♥
I only came up with my outfit the day before the event, with Emilie’s help. As Spellbound had a Halloween theme, I went with a candy coord, using my Candy Treat jumperskirt as a base. I ended up with a lovely lavender x mint coord with a mint see-through blouse and heels and lavender socks and giant bow.

My candy-themed outfit of the day.

Emilie wore a lovely tartan coord with glasses we had bought the day before together. She looked so lovely and we took some really nice pictures together! ♥

Muuuh, I love this picture so much! ;0; ♥

The event took place in a beautiful, inside venue covered in red velvet, carpets and chandeliers. It reminded me a bit of a fancy, secret brothel, but like in a good way. Usually I’m not too happy about Lolita events taking place in dark venues as it’s hard to take pictures, but this place was so lovely, I didn’t mind at all! There was also lovely food, opportunities for shopping and a fashion show in which Emilie modelled! That was really amazing to watch. ^^ I had a great time!

For the Tea Party on Sunday, as Triple Fortune was attending, I wanted to wear my gorgeous pink hat and I ended up combining it with my then newly-bought Romantic Rose Letter jumperskirt. I combined it with lavish accessories and a stunning hairdo if I may say so myself, which looked amazing from every angle. I really felt like a princess that day!

My elegant princess outfit of the day.

The Tea Party took place in an actual castle! We had a few rooms to ourselves and the Tea Party took place in a gorgeous ballroom with large windows and a stunning ceiling. The Tea Party food was to die for and I had a lot of fun chatting with people and taking pictures. I really loved my fellow table members, so I had a great time!

I love this picture of me and Poppy so much!

There was the opportunity to shop again and I ended up buying a gorgeous white lace Triple Fortune skirt on a whim that I absolutely love up until this day. Also, I ended up being given someone’s kabedon photo session with Babi and Kaie raffle prize! ;0; It was a wonderful day. ♥

With Kaie and Babi in our not-kabedon picture, haha.

Flatlay ♥ Fantasic Dolly Twin

♥ Fantasic Dolly Twin ♥

Today’s flatlay coord was posted on May 6, 2020 with the following caption:

#remotetwinning with my dear @rubanrose_emilie. 💕
Emilie is doing some amazing remote twinnings with friends, but unfortunately, I don't feel in a good enough place to actually wear Lolita right now. Nevertheless, she suggested doing a flatlay twinning coord instead, which made me so happy! 😭❤ Although we own different versions and colours of Fantasic Dolly, I think we managed to make a really nice twin! And we both love Maison de Fleur bags, so I'm glad we got to use them! I loved planning with my dear Emilie and she inspired me to do even more flatlays, so please keep an eye out! 😘

I was so happy when my friend Emilie asked me to do a twin with her and she was fine with doing a flatlay! I think the result is very twin-worthy, what do you think?
Fanatsic Dolly is such a pretty dress. Every time I pull it out of my closet I just look at it first for a bit, since it’s just so lovely! ♥ From the polkadotted bow on the neckline to the long black ribbon around the waist ending in two dangling diamonds to the bright mint print striking against the pink and black… Ah, I love this dress so much!
One of the details I especially like about this twin is how we both used the bracelets we both own. They’re really simple, but exactly the same! And I can’t believe I found a pouch that matches my dress the way her pouch matches hers!
I hope we get to wear this twin together someday…

Paris ’18, Day 5 – Arc de Triomphe, Ladurée and Going Home

Hi everyone! How are you all doing in these trying times? I was hit by a sudden wave of nostalgia and finally decided to finish this Paris series! It’s been ages since my last blog post, so I wonder if anyone still reads these..? Oh well, here we go.

Monday July 9th was our last day in Paris, so we had breakfast, packed our things and checked out. As our bus wouldn’t leave until late in the afternoon, we still had plenty of time left to do something fun. As my mom and I had wanted to go up the Arc de Triomphe for years, we decided to do so this time! We left our luggage at the hotel and went on our way to the Arc de Triomphe.

Our outfits of the day.

We arrived at the Champs-Elysées and went through the tunnel to cross the road. The ticket office for the Arc de Triomphe is also there. I’d heard that in order to go up the Arc de Triomphe you have to climb many stairs and as my mom can’t do that due to various reasons, I asked whether it was possible to go up through an elevator before we bought tickets. Luckily this was fine, so we got our tickets (mine was free because of my age)! We walked up some stairs, which led us to the Étoile square. The weather was absolutely beautiful, perfect for our goal honestly!

Tickets for the Arc de Triomphe!

We went to stand in line and got a body- and bag scan, the whole works! After that, we were led to one of the pillars, away from the poor people having to take the stairs, and were allowed into the elevator. The elevator was super cool, with a glass roof showing the endless inside of the pillar stretching up above us. Also, the lady taking us upstairs was very kind!
Once upstairs, my mom and I stepped out of the elevator and arrived in a huge room, probably right under the top of the Arc. There was a gift shop and various wall paintings and art works related to the Arc. We went up the last couple of stairs and found ourselves, finally, on the top of the Arc de Triomphe!
The view upon Paris was absolutely stunning! We could see all the way down the Champs-Elysées to the Louvre on one side and all the way down to la Défense on the other.

The view upon the Champs-Elysées and one of the other streets to the left,
seen from the Arc de Triomphe.

We could also see the Eiffeltower in the distance, rising from the Parisian buildings and striking against the blue sky. The view was so amazing and thew weather just perfect!

This view was just so stunning…

Honestly, there’s not much to say about our visit. We looked around for a while, which my mom and I both absolutely loved. Many people took pictures and there was even a very big film camera present, which was cool. My mom and I sat down for a while, took selfies and just enjoyed the view a bit more. We were very happy to have achieved this goal!

Maybe not our best selfie, but we look so happy! ♥

Finally, we decided to go back down the stairs and check out the gift shop. It was fun to look at all the Paris- and Arc de Triomphe-related articles and my mom ended up buying a book about Napoléon for me, which was really sweet of her!

Goods to satisfy all your Napoléon needs!

We took the elevator back down again, said goodbye to the nice lady and ended up taking some very nice outfit pictures with the Arc as a background. I felt very extra, standing on a small pole, posing in the wind in front of the Arc de Triomphe! It was very fun and the pictures ended up really nice! ^^

I felt like such a model!

We then walked down the Champs-Elysées and visited some shops, like the Swarovski store to take more fancy pictures, haha! Eventually, we ended up at Ladurée again! We wanted to have actual pastries this time, so we took a look at the pastries for sale to choose and then asked for a table. I ordered a raspberry pastry while my mom went for strawberry. We also got iced tea drinks, but they were quite bitter and not very great. XD The pastries however were heavenly!

Delicious pastries at Ladurée.

It was nice to just sit, chat and eat for a while, but eventually we had to leave and pick up our stuff at the hotel. I quickly got changed there, as a long, flowy coat wasn’t very practical for dragging luggage around. Unfortunately, even though we wanted to avoid it, we ended up having to hurry for our bus. We made it in time, but it was stressful. The bus wasn’t full at all however, so we could take up a lot of space and even sleep a bit! The journey was long and uneventful. My dad picked us up from the bus stop and once home, we were greeted by happy dogs. It had been a great trip! ^^
