Under The Sea Birthday Party

On the 29th of September my friend Cat celebrated her birthday with a wonderfully themed Lolita Party and I was invited as well! The theme was ‘Under the sea’ and knowing Cat she had put a lot of effort into the party!
I wanted to wear something that fit the Sea theme, but unfortunately nothing in my closet matched. Well, maybe except for my new blue Baby, the Stars Shine Bright dress (probably more on that later), but I wanted to keep that for another occasion. After some thinking, I decided to build my outfit entirely around a cute fish necklace one of my cousin’s once gave me. Since the fish has white and royal blue stripes, I wanted to incorporate royal blue into my outfit. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any clothes or accessories in that colour, but thankfully my mom showed me a beautiful cardigan at Primark that had the exact colour I wanted! Lucky me. :3 I also wanted to do something different with my hair. Since I am growing out my side bangs, I decided to clip them to the back for once, giving my face a very different shape.
September 29th finally came and I got dressed. My mom was kind enough (as ever) to take some pictures of me! She took so many nice ones I had a hard time choosing (also, as ever)! I hope you like them! ♥ (I know the blue is not a marine colour, but I thought this title sounded nice ^^).

My outfit rundown:
Bow clip: Claire’s
Cardigan: Primark
Jsk: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright’s Millefeuille jumperskirt
Tights: Primark
Shoes: An*Tai*Na
Earrings: Primark
Necklaces: Bijou Brigitte and offbrand
Bracelets: Six and offbrand
My mom drove me to the station where we met up, where I was the first person to arrive! Slowly more girls arrived and we had a wonderful chat and mutual admiration of each other’s outfits. Finally, Cat arrived (last, ha)!
Apparently there is always a fun fair around Cat’s birthday and since the Bubble Tea place had closed down (so tragic ;_;), we decided to just walk through the city to the fun fair. We briefly visited Claire’s, where I showed my coworkers my outfit (they really liked it, haha) and then we walked on. Apparently there was a car show going on and people seemed to think we were a part of that (as some people asked us about it). We arrived at the fun fair, where some girl went to ride the haunted house (not me, too scared, huhu :3). After that, we sat down at the waterside and I took pictures of everyone!
Some of the pictures takes at the waterside.

After sitting down for a while we went to the bank and then to the bus station. From there, we went to Cat’s house. I was surprised people asked me if we were going to a bachelor party. What kind of association is that? XD Another person asked me whether we came from the car show.
Finally we arrived at Cat’s house and we entered a beautifully decorated living room, completely in the ‘Under the sea’-theme. There were garlands hanging from the ceiling with jellyfish lanterns and fish and the table was scattered with shells.
Some of the decorations!

We sat down and tea (or soda was served). We got glittery blue cupcakes, sea-themed chocolate and delicious sandwiches! After sitting down, chatting, drinking tea, eating treats and giving presents we went outside to take some more pictures. I really love to take on the role of photograhper at times like these, even though I am not that good (and the light was really difficult).
Some more pictures of different people! The light was quite bright, sorry.

Everyone looked so amazing! I took a lot of pictures, hihi! ^^
When the theme is ‘Under the sea’, one must have a sailor pose picture!

After taking pictures, we went inside again. There, we chatted some more, watched some Lolita-related videos (and also very non-Lolita related videos XD) and then Cat’s brought out her gorgeous cake!
Isn’t this cake just perfect!?

The cake was really delicious, with a minty flavour. So good! *_* Finally, it was time for me to go home. It had been a wonderful birthday. I had had so much fun! Later I was talking to my mom about how I wasn’t looking forward to my own birthday at all and she suggested to have a Lolita birthday party as well! So look out for that in the near future! ;)
