10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 10

♥ 10 random Lolita facts about you

We’re already at the last day of the 10 Day Lolita Challenge!
Time sure goes fast doesn’t it? ^^ For today’s challenge I will list 10 random facts about myself as a Lolita that you might not yet know. I feel like I have done this before somewhere..? Oh well, I’ll try to stay original!

Fact no. 1: I don’t remember how I discovered Lolita fashion. You’d think that something that would become such a huge part of your life would somehow make an impression, right? Not on me apparently. I do vaguely remember knowing about the term ‘Lolita fashion’ when I was reading the manga Death Note when I 15. I thought the character Misa was wearing Gothic Lolita. Of course that was incorrect, but I can at least judge from that I knew about it. Later on I got more interested in the fashion (aka obsessed), which I think was around when I was 16 years old.
Fact no. 2: The most expensive dress I own is either my Atelier Pierrot Reine dress or my Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Pas de Deux in the Blue Moon jsk. Both I bought brand new (pun intended) and were about equally expensive. My cheapest dress is my Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Dessert one piece, which I found at Closet Child for a steal!
Fact no. 3: Lolita got me interested in clothing in general. I used to hate shopping and had no interest in clothes whatsoever. I wore whatever was comfortable and hid my body, preferably black. School and my grades were far more important. Thanks to Lolita fashion I developed an interest in casual clothing as well. Now I love things like bags and shoes (although I still hate ‘normal’ shoe shopping)!
Fact no. 4: I recently celebrated my six year anniversary in the fashion! I considered myself a ‘true’ Lolita from the moment I wore my first coord, which was on December 10th 2011.
Fact no. 5: I met the French Lolitas before I had ever met my own country’s community. I went to the Angelic Pretty and Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Tea Parties in Paris and almost a month later I went to my first Dutch event, where I met part of my local community. I felt a bit like a snob, haha!
Fact no. 6: I am still not ashamed of my first Lolita outfit. When I started out in Lolita, many people had gone through a ‘terrible Ita-phase’, as they called it. I wanted to start out in a way that would make my later Lolita self proud and so I waited until I had a full outfit. Still no regrets (except perhaps about the colour of the shoes. I still don’t own lavender shoes).
Fact no. 7: I actually met a lot of Lolita models, designers and well-known figures! Sometimes I still can’t believe I met a lot of the people I looked up to as a young Lolita. I met Maki, Asuka, Midori Fukasawa, Misako Aoki, RinRin Doll, Akira, Yu Kimura, Kira Imai, Babi, Kaie, Masumi Kanoh, Akinori Isobe, Yuko Ashizawa, Aya Nimura, Mari Nakamura, Mariko Suzuki and was in the close proximity of Risa Nakamura and Chikage. Whoa…
Fact no. 8: I can tie really pretty bows and I really like doing it. So much so that I tend to stalk people around if their waist tie bows aren’t pretty until I can redo them, which rewarded me with the unofficial title ‘the Bow Ninja’. x)
Fact no. 9: A lot of Lolitas have specific themes or prints they really like and are even associated with, like chocolate prints or bunnies or ponies. I however don’t really have that, so I went on to ask my Facebook friends whether there is a specific dress or print they associate me with. I got a lot of different answers, which was actually really nice, but two recurring answers were: Jewelry Jelly and Promenade de Paris, which made me really happy!
Fact no. 10: Lolita fashion has made very sad at times, but it has also made me incredibly happy many, many times.

This was the 10 Day Lolita Challenge! I hope you liked reading along or maybe you even participated? Do let me know, I'd love to read your answers!

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 9

♥ 9 favourite foods

I have to admit that for the number 9 I had a hard time coming up with a challenge, but then I remembered previous challenges had talked about favourite foods, so I thought: 'Why not?' So here are 9 of my favourite foods.

Food no. 1: Ispahan.
While coming up with nine different kinds of food, my thoughts went to macarons (the epitome of Lolita of course), but eventually I decided on an Ispahan. An Ispahan is a mixture of a macaron, a pastry and a piece of heaven. I think the first time I tried this pastry was when I was visiting my friend Emilie in Switzerland. This pastry is so delicious, it's hard to describe! The delicious macaron top and bottom combined with the beautiful raspberries and lychees. Just thinking about it makes me melt...
Food no. 2: Sushi.
As a Japan lover, this is probably very cliché, but I really do love sushi. Every time I eat it after I haven't had it in a while, I remember again just how much I love sushi. I can't imagine one day I will feel otherwise.
Food no. 3: Monchou cake.
You can wake me up in the middle of the night for monchou cake, I swear. Monchou cake is not only incredibly delicious, it's also really accessible and super easy to make. So you can have it as often as you like!
Food no. 4: Pasta.
I love a good pasta, especially carbonara. I eat pasta very often, but carbonara is rather rare for me, so when I eat it it's like a little celebration.
Food no. 5: Okonomiyaki.
The first time I had okonomiyaki was during my first trip to Japan, so there's a lot of memories attached to this food. Nevertheless I think this food is really delicious and since I rarely eat it, the taste really 'builds up' in my head, you know? The rare times I did eat it were always on really great days, so okonomiyaki means positivity in my head.
Food no. 6: Ice cream.
Hahaha, ice cream is a really broad thing to say, huh? Well, but I really love a lot of different kinds of ice cream! As a child I used to go for chocolate flavour whenever I could, now as an adult I much more prefer fruit flavours.
Food no. 7: Hong Kong Milk Bubble Tea.
The bubble tea place next to my (now ex-)school has very delicious Hong Kong Milk Tea Bubble Tea with tapioca pearls. I have no idea what makes a good or even real bubble tea, but I used to go to this place a lot with friends and this was and still is my favourite flavour. The Royal Milk Tea that can be found in vending machines in Japan tastes the same too!
Food no. 8: Kroket.
Kroketten are such a Dutch thing. I think if I ever moved abroad I would miss them a great deal, they're so delicious! I always eat them when I have fries too, so good~!
Food no. 9: Crêpes.
Crêpes are not only cute, but they're really good too! Although French crêpes are already really nice, the Japanese have lifted crêpes to an entire new level with their cakes and fruits and whipped cream added to it. I want a crêpe now...

As you can see, food can be your favourite not only because it tastes good, but also because there are memories attached to it! Do you have any favourite foods that are like that?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 8

♥ 8 facts about your Lolita wardrobe

For today’s challenge I had to come up with 8 facts about my Lolita wardrobe. This is of course a very broad subject, so that was quite nice! I hope these facts give you a bit of insight into my Sweet Lolita wardrobe.

Fact no. 1: I own mostly Angelic Pretty dresses, but I also have a few Baby, the Stars Shine Bright dresses and even some Metamorphose, Atelier Pierrot and a lovely Taobao dress!
Fact no. 2: As you would perhaps expect, most of my dresses are pink: 8½ in total, followed by blue: 7½ (one dress is both pink and blue and neither of the colours predominates so I count it as half) and black: 6.
Fact no. 3: My closet is from IKEA. That is a very literal wardrobe fact, I know, haha! But actually, many people in the past asked me where I got my closet. I got it at IKEA, not long after my first trip to Japan. It’s from the Birkeland series, but I believe the store doesn’t sell it anymore sadly. It was quite a nice series.
Fact no. 4: I hang my dresses in order of colour. I used to hang my dresses in order of brand and then colour for a long time, but it didn’t look very nice. Now my closet is like a rainbow! From dark colours on the left to light colours on the right.
Fact no. 5: I sort my accessories by colour too! I have a really neat system in one of the drawers of my closet, with small compartments where I keep most of my accessories in. It would work even better if I kept it a bit neater though…
Fact no. 6: I own two Lolita skirts, but I rarely wear them. Although I love skirts in daily life, Lolita skirts are just not for me.
Fact no. 7: I own an adorable Pony bag that I’m really happy with, but I’ve never used it in a coord before! I feel so bad for poor Pony-chan, but somehow I just never got to using it. She’s having a fun time with my other stuffed animals when I’m not looking though, I’m sure.
Fact no. 8: I have never sold anything! I get really attached to my Lolita items, which I why I still own every single piece I’ve ever bought. I always remember where I bought them, when I bought them and how I felt when I bought them, so letting them go is extremely hard for me. Maybe someday.

Do you have any interesting facts about your Lolita wardrobe?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 7

♥ 7 items from your Lolita wishlist

For today’s challenge I will be giving you a small look into my Lolita wishlist! Over the years I have acquired a fair amount of my wishlist dresses, which I think is really lucky and makes me very happy! Nonetheless I still have a list of dresses and other items I would like to own one day, some more than others. This challenge actually made me rethink about my wishlist too! I haven’t looked at it in a while and there were some dresses on there I really don’t consider my style anymore. So here is a small list of 7 dresses I hope I can add to my wishlist right now, with my current style and preferences. All the dresses are Angelic Pretty by the way, no surprise there, haha!

Melty Chocolate high waist jsk in pink x brown.
This dress has been on my wishlist ever since I started one. This dress is just so freaking cute! I love chocolate themes, but I think this dress is not too over the top. The straps and hems of the bodice have a chocolate print and the border print depicts various chocolate sceneries. Angelic Pretty releases a chocolate print every year, but the past few years I feel like they kind of overdo it sometimes. This dress still feels like ‘the original chocolate print’
to me. ♥

Romantic Rose Letter jsk in lavender, mint or sax blue.
When the advertisements for this dress were released, I really let out a sigh. What a beautiful print! What a beautiful name! And such beautiful cuts too! This dress really breathes ‘romantic’ to me. I love it in three out of the four colours it was released in, but I have to say I am most drawn to the sax blue version, although I surely wouldn’t say no to the other two. ♥

Melty Ribbon Chocolate jsk in brown.
This dress seems really hard to get so I don’t think I will ever be able to add it to my wardrobe, but a girl can dream. Melty Ribbon Chocolate (that name though) looks like a preppy school girl uniform, but… chocolate! I love the cut, the beautiful buttons and the chocolatey brown colour. ♥

Marine Kingdom tiered jsk in pink or sax blue.
I am still not 100% sure whether I want this dress or not, because the low cut might look weird on me. I don’t really like the other jsk cut though. Nevertheless, I think this dress is just so beautiful! The gradient colour, the mermaid print, the use of pearls in the print and shell lace! It’s too beautiful not to put on my wishlist. ♥

Sugar Hearts jsk in white.
This dress has been on my wishlist since its release. And can you blame me? This dress is so cute, so colourful, so versatile! Look at the little bows and buttons! I actually wore it once because a friend lent it to me, but one day I hope to own it myself. ♥

Cinema Doll jsk in ivory, pink or lavender.
This dress is so different from my usual style that it makes me love it even more. It’s so elegant and gives off that old, kind of Hollywood vibe. I can already picture many coords with this sporting cute black heels and many pearl accessories. I love Cinema Doll in these three colours and probably would even go for the fourth, which is dark grey. I love it a lot! ♥

Princess of Roses jsk in pink.
To end this list, a princess-like, elegant pink dress with ribbons, flowers and pearls. I absolutely adore this dress, but it kind of represents any kind of princess-like, elegant pink dress. I would like to add a dress like this to my wardrobe like this. ♥

Do you have any dresses you would really like to own? Do you own any dresses you had once added to your wishlist?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 6

♥ 6 Lolita outfits you wore you really liked

For today’s challenge I have picked 6 outfits that I wore in the past that I really liked. In general I like all my outfits, one more than the other, but some really stick out for me. Here are some of them. I usually name my outfits as well (is that weird?), so I have added the names I chose for them too.

♥ Jewelry Sugar Jelly ♥
I wore this outfit to the Harajuku Fashion Walk back in 2015. Jewelry Jelly is really one of my favourite dresses in my closet. It’s from the 2010 era of Angelic Pretty, which was a really good time in my opinion, with lots of amazing dress releases. This dress is not only cute, it’s also very versatile: you can combine it with nearly every colour. I combined the dress with pink and mint and wore as many accessories I could carry around, because I wanted to represent Sweet Lolita as well as I could. I also wore my hair in big, poofy twin tails, which was my favourite hair style when I started out in Lolita but couldn’t wear for many years. This outfit breathes 2010 Angelic Pretty to me and I love all the accessories I used, especially my pastel cross necklace! ♥

♥ Theater Fairy ♥
I wore this outfit to The Mad Carnival, a Tea Party organised by Summer Tales Boutique (back then called Fly Away Fashion). The theme was sort of creepy and Alice in Wonderland. Personally I don’t really like to dress up scarily, so I decided to go my usual, Sweet Lolita way. I got inspired by some of the cute magical wands in the kid’s section and I decided to dress up like some kind of fairy! Star Night Theatre still has a bit of a carnival theme, so I came up with a pink x red coord, a colour combination that is usually frowned upon but that I really like, and gold details. I had my hair up in two buns, which is a style I should really redo again, because I really like it. I still love this outfit because I love the colour combination I had chosen and the accessories to go with it. ♥

♥ Crystal Dream Queen ♥
I wore this outfit to the Angelic Pretty Tea Party in 2015. This really is one of the outfits I am most proud of. It contains one of my absolute favourite dresses, handmade accessories and an over the top cape that somehow matched nearly perfectly! I felt really regal in this outfit and I won 2nd Best Dressed at the Tea Party! ♥

♥ Princess Bride ♥
I wore this outfit to the Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Tea Party of La Vie en Rose in 2015. Aaah, I really love this outfit so much! I was inspired by Misako’s bridal outfit for the Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Fashion Show and my look came quite close to hers! I had bought a blouse and shoes especially for this outfit, had a head accessory made and crafted a necklace, bows and a wand myself. It took so much effort to create this outfit, which is why it is extra special to me. I felt so pretty that day! ♥

♥ Strawberries and Cherries ♥
I wore this outfit to the Kawaii Event Tea Party and Kawaii Event Evening. That day I wore my favourite dress from that time with a lot of my favourite accessories. I still really like the colour scheme of this outfit too. I wore this outfit again later with white tights, which was actually even better. The fact the Kawaii Event was one of my favourites I’ve ever been to probably adds to the memories I have of this outfit though. ♥

♥ Christmas Present ♥
I wore this outfit to the Very Merry Christmas Tea Party from Summer Tales Boutique. Wow, this cardigan is in three of my favourite outfits! For this event, I wanted to look like a Christmas present, so I wore a dress that reminded me of wrapping paper. I hung gold pearl garlands around my dress with bows on top of them and added more bows and decorations wherever I could. I even crafted a little present which I filled with glitter. When I look back on this outfit, I can only smile. And I ended up winning the outfit competition too, which was so wonderful! ♥

So those were six of my favourite outfits. Do you have any outfits that you wore that really stick out for you? Maybe even more than six?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 5

♥ 5 songs that inspire you in Lolita

For today’s challenge I will be listing five songs that somehow inspire me in Lolita and why. This took me a while since my music taste changes so fast and so much! But here are five songs that inspire me.

Expensive by Todrick Hall feat: Kim Chi, Willam, Alaska, Mariah & Laganja.
Ok first of all, this song is just badass. When the beat starts playing I just instantly feel the need to put on sunglasses and put up an ego from here to Tokyo. Also the lyrics really speaks to me in some places:

They like it cause I rock it with the right swag (damn)
But when they start to ask about the price tag
Tell 'em this shit's expensive

This speaks to me as a Lolita, I’m sure you can understand why. ;) Also not to mention that this song is from the visual concept album Straight Outta Oz, which is based on the Wizard of Oz and that is just so freaking cool!

Marina and the Diamonds: Primadonna.
I really love the melody, beat and sort of weird lyrics of this song. Perhaps another element of why I like it so much is that I once rewrote the text to fit a more Lolita-esque situation. There once was a time I wrote new texts to songs to turn them into Lolita parodies or just Lolita songs and this is one of them. I still can't listen to the text without hearing:

Sweet Lolita girl, yeah
I want all the dresses in the world
I can't help that I need them all
The spring collection, summer, winter fall
People say I'm kinda difficult
But it's really not only my fault
Saving money can be really hard
Luckily I've got my credit card
Sweet Lolita girl

W. A. Mozart Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K 525 Allegro

This piece by Mozart is of course very well known, but don't you think it's a perfect song to get dressed up too? I can totally imagine a YouTube timelapse of dressing up in Lolita to this piece! I listen to it very regularly.

West Side Story: I Feel Pretty

I've never been overtly fond of West Side Story, although I've come to appreciate it more over time. This song however is, in my opinion, how every girl should feel once she dresses up in Lolita: like the most beautiful girl in the world, to be envied by others even.

I feel pretty
Oh, so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and gay
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me today
[...]
See the pretty girl in that mirror there
Who can that attractive girl be?
Such a pretty face
Such a pretty dress
Such a pretty smile
Such a pretty me!

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu: Harajuku Iyahoi

It's been a while since I've really been into a Kyary song, but this song is just so catchy! And sometimes that all you need: cute and catchy! I even do workouts to this song regularly, haha! Also the outfit are really sweet.

Do you have any songs that fit your Lolita aesthetic? Why do you like them?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 4

♥ 4 first vs latest comparisons of Lolita outfits

For today’s challenge I chose four dresses from my wardrobe and looked up the first and latest outfits I wore with them. Do I still like my first outfits? Has my style changed?
Let’s find out!

Candy Treat from Angelic Pretty.
Of course, we start with my first ever Lolita outfit! I wore my first Lolita outfit on my birthday in 2011. I was so excited to wear this beautiful style! I had curled my hair and even wore eyeliner for the first time (even though it was a little hard to see, haha)! I remember even back then I wished I could have combined my lavender Candy Treat jsk with lavender shoes, but I did’t have any, so pink was a good second option. I never went through a very embarrassing phase if I may say so, I still quite like this outfit! I remember feeling so
happy in it!
The last time I wore Candy Treat was so long ago! I went to meet up with some lovely German girls for food and shopping and I went with a fairly casual outfit, but to be honest: I still really like it! Everything matches really well and I like the use of small accessories. ♥
I really should wear Candy Treat sometime again…

Millefeuille jsk from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright.
Secondly, my first ever Lolita dress: this beautiful, fairly basic Millefeuille jsk. This dress is so versatile and honestly even quite comfortable! The first time I wore it was for a simple photoshoot I did with my mom. My outfit was really simple. But I actually like it because of its simplicity. This outfit can easily be worn for many occasions. Also: no bangs! I had forgotten to comb my fringe to the front, but honestly I like it. It’s refreshing, since even up until now 95% of the time I wear my fringe forward in Lolita.
I have to admit I’m cheating a bit for my latest outfit. I actually wore this dress also at the main event of Under the Sea, but since that outfit really felt like ‘Must Be Comfortable Must Also Represent The Fashion’ I kind of feel like it doesn’t count. So here we have this outfit instead. I wore it to the Japan Tag in 2015 in Germany. My friend Iris lent me her beautiful hat and gloves and I really felt like such a classy lady! I freaking loved that hat. ♥

Jewelry Jelly from Angelic Pretty.
Third up is Jewelry Jelly. Aaah, I remember when I received this dress. I got hit by a huge custom bill and couldn’t open the package until later that day because I was so upset. The dress in the end was totally worth it though: it’s one of my favourites. I wore this dress for the first time doing another photoshoot with my mom. My hair was so thick back then, wow. I really lost a lot of hair.
My latest outfit with this dress was back in London. Somehow my Jewelry Jelly outfits always end up looking a bit… the same? Maybe because I combine this dress with these socks a lot, haha! Nevertheless, Jewelry Jelly always looks cute and gives me a
magical girl feeling! ♥

Fantasic Dolly from Angelic Pretty.
And finally, my beautiful Fantasic Dolly. I picked this dress because 1) I love the last outfit I wore with it and 2) I don’t really like the first outfit I wore with it so that’s something fun to talk about.
I wore this dress to my first Fly Away Fashion (before they renamed it to Summer Tales Boutique) Tea Party. I had never been to the shop or any of their events and I had signed up for the outfit contest. I ended up being picked, but my outfit didn’t match the theme at all and barely anyone knew me back then, so it was a little daunting. So it’s not that I really dislike the outfit that much, but more the circumstances in which I wore it. Ah, but now it sounds like I didn’t have fun at all! I actually had a lot of fun and kept coming back to following Tea Parties!
The latest outfit I wore on the other hand I love! It’s probably mainly because of the hat… Yeah that’s definitely it. XD I hadn’t planned on wearing this hat at all, because I didn’t own it yet (duh), but it matched so perfectly it totally finished this outfit and I felt so elegant! ♥

Are you still proud of some of the earlier outfits you wore? What do you like about them? What would you change about them?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 3

♥ 3 Lolita pictures that inspire you

For today’s challenge I will talk about three pictures that in some way have inspired or still inspire me in Lolita. I had a bit of trouble with this one, since I have saved thousands of Lolita-related pictures onto my computer, but I ended up with these.

First we have these pictures of Lolita model Midori. Now I know I am cheating a bit, since these are two pictures and not one, but for some reason they are always connected in my mind. Midori is such a lovely model. Not only does she look really cute, she’s also really sweet in real life. She’s the epitome of Lolita to me and these two pictures of her are my favourites. On the left she’s wearing Unico in Bloomland, on the right Merry Sweet Castle. I think I like the left picture even more now that I think about it. When I met Midori at my first Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Tea Party in Paris, I had brought it printed along with me for her to sign. She was happily surprised I had brought a picture on my own accord for her! Also, the carousel might be the inspiration for the opening of all my YouTube videos!

This Angelic Pretty advertisement is always been one of my favourites. It features model Ryoko Kobayashi in adorable pink wigs sporting my first Dream Dress: Star Night Theatre. And look at her bare arms! I thought this dress was just the most beautiful I had ever seen and as I mentioned in Challenge Day 1, it was my first Angelic Pretty dress.
I love Angelic Pretty magazine advertisements. You see them less and less these days, but I have a whole folder of old ones on my computer. The work put into the background and styling is just so wonderful, they’re like pieces of art! ♥

I can’t really explain why, but I really like this picture. This is a backstage picture of the models for the 2016 Baby, the Stars Shine Bright fashion show. I reblogged this picture on Facebook with #squadgoals and let’s face it: this group is total squad goals! I think sharing Lolita fashion with friends is so much fun. Looking pretty yourself while looking at other pretty people. ♥

Are there any pictures that mean a lot to you? The reasons why can be endless!

My Birthday in Japan!

Hi everyone!
Today is a very special day for me, because it's my birthday! I have come at that point where I rather refer to myself as 'twenty-something' rather than my actual age, but a quick browsing through my blog will quickly reveal my true age, so I challenge you. ^^

Actually, I am not only celebrating my birthday today, but also my Six Year Lolita Anniversary! I considered myself a ‘true’ Lolita from the moment I wore my first coord, which was on my birthday, December 10th, in 2011! It was such a special day... And now six years have passed already! Time sure goes fast.

For three years I made a 'Lolita Year in Review' post for my birthday, but I decided not to do so this year. First of all because, although wonderfully exciting things have happened in my Lolita sphere, there weren't that many different ones. At least not enough to spend an entire review post on. Maybe you wouldn't expect it, because I got the chance to go to three very big events and I am more than grateful that I did! But outside of those events Lolita wasn't a big part of my life, because school took up most of my time. I would have to stretch those three events out and talk about them all over again. And frankly, that would just be boring, so I'll spare you and would like to kindly guide you to the special tags I created for these events: Barcelona and Omnia Vanitas, Paris and the Angelic Pretty Tea Party and London and Dream Masquerade Carnival.

And second of all, because as I mentioned in the introduction post for my 10 Day Lolita Challenge post, I am away on a trip! Maybe you guessed it already before, maybe the title of this post kind of gives it away (haha), but I am in Japan at the moment! As a child, I always dreamed of doing big and exciting things on my birthday after I would pass the age of children's parties. Last year I made that wish come true by spending my birthday in
Ooh La La Paris, this year I am spending this special day in Tokyo! ♥
I am writing this post beforehand, so you can imagine it's still almost hard to believe that such an amazing thing is going to happen! Am I really not dreaming~?
I have quite an exciting day planned out already with room for spontaneity as well, so keep an eye out on my blog for a big review!

See you soon and thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 2

♥ 2 Tea Parties or events or meets that hold special memories to you

For today’s challenge I will talk about two events that I have fond memories of. For this challenge I didn’t have to think for long at all! I have been to many, many amazing events, meets and Tea Parties, but there are several that really stick out for me.

First of all, the Kawaii Event I attended in 2013. This event was one of the best events I ever attended for so many reasons! The event location was wonderful, the food was great, the two guests Misako Aoki and RinRin Doll were lovely, there was lots of time to meet them, the programme was entertaining, I wore an outfit I love up until this day, I met lots of lovely new people, the Tea Party was loads of fun, the evening part of the programme was even more fun and I got to experience it all with my best Lolita friend! I will always remember the Lolita Kawaii Event with a smile. ♥
If you want to read about it, here you can find the blogposts about the Tea Party and the Event Evening.

The second event I have fond memories of is Street Fashion Europe’s Under the Sea event. Even though I lived it through the eyes of an organiser (and ran around like crazy during the months before, the days of the event and the day after) I had so much fun! Not to mention the incredible feeling of pride I felt: I had helped organising this, this was partially thanks to my doing! I loved the location we had, the theme suited my country so much and everyone wore such stunning outfits to honour it and the line up of guests was not just incredible, but they were also incredibly kind. Just thinking back on sitting in my little corner with the technician taking care of the fashion shows makes me tear up in happiness.
It was amazing! ♥
Here is the link to the Main Event and to the Tea Party.

Are there any events that hold special memories to you? Maybe you met some of your best friends at a Tea Party? Or maybe you got to meet a special guest that meant a lot to you at an event? Or you just had tons of fun at your local meet?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

10 Day Lolita Challenge Day 1

♥ 1 favourite Lolita brand and why

For the first day of this challenge I will talk about my favourite Lolita brand. I am sure it will come as no surprise that that is Angelic Pretty!
Angelic Pretty has been my favourite Lolita brand from the very beginning. I remember looking in awe at all the beautiful advertisements featuring the most beautiful dresses and prints. My first Dream Dress, before I started even thinking of a Lolita wishlist, was Star Night Theatre. I feel extremely lucky that my first Angelic Pretty dress was in fact Star Night Theatre.

Angelic Pretty has remained my favourite brand throughout my entire time of being a Lolita, even when my taste changed. It’s like Angelic Pretty evolved with me, or I evolved with Angelic Pretty. I fell in love with their over-the-top sweet themes and stayed for their more mature, elegant prints. Naturally I don’t like every single print or dress they ever released, but I sure like a whole lot of them!
So yeah, in short: Angelic Pretty is my favourite brand and I hope it will continue to be for a long time!

What is your favourite brand? Do you have a special reason for it to be your favourite? Has this brand always been your favourite or have you switched?

Thank you for reading! ~☆~

The 10 Day Lolita Challenge

Hi everyone!
It’s December already, which means 2017 is almost over! Sadly it’s not been a very good year for my blogging, as I have been incredibly busy with school and with life in general. This resulted in my blogpost count ending up rather low, so I decided to do something about that! I am taking a small break from my London posts (we're nearly there though, only two more to go) to make room for something else. For years I’ve been saying I want to do the 30 Day Lolita Challenge here on my blog, but somehow I just never got to it. Now 30 days is quite a lot, so I decided to make a mini version of this challenge: the 10 Day Lolita Challenge. For 10 days (or more, depending on how often you want to post) you answer a question about yourself as a Lolita, numbers going up the further you get. I picked some parts from other challenges and made some up by myself. Feel free to participate, whether on your blog or for example on Instagram!

These are the questions, or rather, components:

♥ 1 favourite Lolita brand and why
♥ 2 Tea Parties or events or meets that hold special memories to you
♥ 3 Lolita pictures that inspire you
♥ 4 first vs latest comparisons of Lolita outfits
♥ 5 songs that inspire you in Lolita
♥ 6 Lolita outfits you wore you really liked
♥ 7 items from your Lolita wishlist
♥ 8 facts about your Lolita wardrobe
♥ 9 favourite foods
♥ 10 random Lolita facts about you

Another reason I am taking a small break is because I will be gone on a trip! So I won't have time to finish my London posts right now, but I hope to finish them soon after I return, because I have new travel posts to write! I hope they will be very exciting! ♥
In the meantime, I hope you like this challenge! ~☆~
