Casual Classic

A few months ago, I met my friend Catherine via the internet. She had commented on one of my Lolita pictures, because she recognised the bridge behind me. We happened to be living in the same city! We talked through Facebook and decided to meet up (out of Lolita by the way)! Of course we were both nervous: maybe we didn’t even like each other, but the opposite was true. We liked each other very much! We met again at Summer Darkness and two weeks later, Cat suggested to spend the afternoon together, so she came over to my house .
We had decided to both wear Lolita, but since it was very hot I decided to create a casual coord with a summery dress and blouse from my ‘normal’ wardrobe.
♠ Casual Classic ♠
My outfit rundown:
Headbow: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Blouse: H&M
Dress: offbrand
Accessories: Claire’s, Six, offbrand
Socks: H&M
Shoes: An*Tai*Na

The pose I did in the the upper picture is officially called the ‘Doll Pose’, copyright by me. XD I’m joking of course, but we gave it a name that day. ^^
Cat wore a lovely black coord with a card themed, handmade(!) skirt. We asked my mom to take some pictures of us and she agreed. ^^
Doesn’t Cat have beautiful hair? I’m so jealous! >o<
We decided to go downstairs, to take pictures in the garden. There, one of my dogs decided she wanted to model too. ^^
Catootje isn’t a very Loli-like model. ^^’ ♥
We had a lot of fun taking pictures, talking, eating the cupcakes and cakes we both baked and watching a movie. A week later we did something very fun together with another friend of Cat’s. I’ll write a post about that as soon as possible. Plus it’s Cat’s birthday very soon. I’m so excited to see what kind of things she has planned!
I hope you liked the pictures. Thank you for reading! ♥

A Few of My Favourite Things: Music Notes

Last week I started my study at the Conservatory of Rotterdam! Music has always been a big part of my life, but from now on it will take up most of my time. I am very excited to see what will happen this year and sometimes when I walk through the school, I can’t help but smile. A couple of months ago I could only dream of walking through these halls and have classes in these classrooms. Now I have a schedule, my own teachers and soon I have my own private card to travel by train. I was nervous for my first singing lesson, but it was wonderful to finally sing off the music sheets while the music was being played by a pianist.

I’ve always had a fascination for music notes. As a child, I loved drawing them next to the girls in colourful dresses with fairy wings. I probably drew all kinds of music notes that didn’t exist, but I just loved them so much! Now that I can read music (not superfast or anything, but I can read it), music notes have become even more important to me.
I would love to show how important music is to me, but since I’m not really into tattoos (on myself), I would love to show it in my outfits. I really love music notes in jewelry and I’d love to own Angelic Pretty’s Recital Onepiece or Fancy Melody. Even owning Bodyline’s replica of this last print would be awesome, just to wear it to school! I hope I can find some music-themed accessories and clothing soon. I would really like that. ^^

Pas de Deux at Summer Darkness

Last month, on Sunday July 29th (yes I'm late writing this), the annual festival ‘Summer Darkness’ was held again in the beautiful city Utrecht, about a 40-minute drive from where I live. Summer Darkness is a music festival with mainly Gothic music, but it also has a big market on the beautiful Domsquare with all kinds of Gothic, Victorian and Cyber Clothing. The Dutch Lolita store MiraiFashion has been organising a Lolita fashion show every time the festival takes place and this time was no exception! I decided it was time for me to meet a part of my national Lolita community by going to see the fashion show for the first time this year, all dressed up! My mom agreed to come with me and we spent a fun day together! She liked it so much, she wants to come back next year!
So first I want to show you the outfit that I wore! I decided to wear my brand new Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Odette jumperskirt! It took me a long time to come up with an outfit, as I didn’t want to wear this dress with a white blouse! Luckily, after trying some outfits on my new dress form (called Fantasic Dolly!) I found the perfect blouse from my ‘normal’ wardrobe to go with it! I combine dit with simple accessories and my matching pink Fantasic Dolly socks! This is the outfit I wore:
♪ Pas de Deux Lolita ♪
My outfit rundown:
Headbow: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Blouse: offbrand
Jsk: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright’s Pas de Deux in the Blue Moon Odette Version
Accessories: Angelic Pretty, Claire’s, offbrand
Socks: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: An*Tai*Na
Umbrella: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Bag: Angelic Pretty

This picture was taken at the end of the day, but it shows my entire outfit perfectly. ^^
I was really happy with my outfit! I loved wearing my new jsk and headbow for the first time! I also wore my black shoes for the first time, my feet and legs hurt so badly that night! XD

Although we departed very much on time, we still managed to arrive a bit late in Utrecht! I think this was because we went by car, parked, took the tramway to the station and walked the last part from there.
Although we had to walk fast (it was already 1:05 pm and the show would start at 1 pm), it was interesting to see how the usually crowded shooping streets were deserted. Even the lively conservatory (where I am not going to study T_T) was quiet!
The beautiful streets of Utrecht.

We arrived at the Domsquare where the fashionshow had already started. Of course there was a big crowd around the stage, so I couldn’t stand close. I was glad I was able to see everything despite my height. ^^
The fashionshow was lovely and I saw a lot of girls I had met on the forum! After the show I met up with one of my friends and all of the Lolitas went to a little park to take pictures together and a group picture!

After the fashionshow I met up with my friend Catherine and we wanted to find out where all the Lolitas would meet. I saw one of my Facebookfriends Josine and I talked a little with her. After that, me and many other Lolitas were ambushed by photographers who wanted to take our picture! It was so much fun! I felt like a total celebrity, posing in front of at least ten cameras! I received many business cards too. ^^
After a while, we followed the other Lolitas to a little garden, where we took a group picture of all the Lolitas together. At least thirty photographers took dozens of pictures of us! Then we took separate group pictures: Sweet and Gothic/black. Because I was wearing black, I was in a picture with the Gothics! I’ve never had that before, I loved it! We hung out in the garden for a while and people asked for pictures. My mom also took some pictures of me alone and with friends.
All those photographers! XD

Some girls decided to go eat out, others wanted to have some tea. I decided to follow Josine to a restaurant not far away. It must have been an interesting sight: all those differently dressed girls sitting in a circle on a terrace, waiting for tea. Meanwhile, my mom browsed the Gothic market. After a while, I decided to go join my mom and she showed me a stand that had amazing lace parasols. I fell in love with a pink one and my mom decided to buy it. I love that parasol so much, it’s so kitch! ♥ My mom also fell in love with Victorian clothing! She even considers buying some pieces in the future!
My mom took some alone pictures of me.
I apologize for my peeking petticoat. -_-‘ I discovered the dress is a bit shorter
than my other dresses, but it was only when we went home I realised.

We went back to the square where the fashion had been and I asked Leyla, the owner of MFashion, for a picture. Then, a journalist asked if we wanted to be in a picture together for her magazine. I wonder if we our picture was published..
My mom and I had gotten quite hungry and we decided to do something very dangerous: eat garlic bread. There was a stand with amazing garlic bread and you could put many different toppings on it. There weren’t any places left to sit, so we had to sand next to the stand. You should have seen me eat: standing as far away from my food as possible so I wouldn’t spill anything on my dress! It was a challenge, but I succeeded!
We had gotten quite tired and we decided it was time to leave. My mom took some last pictures of me in the streets of Utrecht with the low sun and we also ate some ice cream! A very nice older couple asked me some questions about my outfit. They were so nice! They had been to Summer Darkness last year and they were disappointed to hear hey had just missed it! They said they loved my outfit. ^^
The text on the ice cream car says ‘I melt for you’. ♥

My mom and I went back to the station and back to the car. Since it had been quite a warm day, I decided to take my dress and socks off in the parking garage (I usually wouldn’t do that, but here was no one around).
Then we went home. Both my mom and I enjoyed ourselves very much! We definitely want to return next year!
Pfew, it was hard to combine an outfit post and a report. I hope you enjoyed it and I sincerely hope you like my outfit! ^^ I must say I felt comfortable and very pretty in it! I love my new dress to death and I loved wearing it for the first time on such a wonderful day! Thank you for reading! ♥
Bonus picture: our dangerous food!

Paris Achats et Cadeaux

I promise this is my last post related to Paris. ^^’ While writing my reports, I promised to make an entry showing my purchases. Since I also received quite some lovely things, I decided to make a post of both purchases (achats) and gifts (cadeaux).
This afternoon, I spread out all my things on my parents’ bed (my bed is too small and the light is not so great), but I quickly realised not everything would fit into one pictures. So yaaay: two pictures! Here we go!

1. Lollipop Ribbon Bolero. I bought this beautiful bolero when I went shopping with my mom and my friend Emilie at Baby. I tried on three different boleros, but this one is my absolute favourite! It matches my new dress super well too!
2. Polka Dot Short Sleeve Cardigan. I bought this cardigan the second time I went to the Baby shop. This cardigan was exactly what I had always been looking for: it is red with polka dots, has bows and is overall adorable! I couldn’t leave it hanging!
3. Cameron Head Bow. I bought this adorable head bow to match my new dress, since the Pas de Deux head bow was already gone. I was hoping to find a cute bow and I succeeded!
4. Pas de Deux in the Blue Moon Odette Jumperskirt. I fell in love with the red version of this dress, until I discovered the black version. The dress has a swan lake theme, but it also has chairs and make up tables on it (interesting huh?). The cut is quite low and it’s so different from my other dresses!
5. Gift Ribbon Tote Bag. I bought this bag, because it wasn’t so expensive (haha) and because it can fit a lot! It’s really cute and so handy!
6. Polka Dot Cutsew One Piece. My only Angelic Pretty purchase. My friend Sydney bought this dress in black and I loved it on her! When I tried on the red version I fell in love. I want to wear it to Disneyland!
I had a bit of trouble finding all of the names of the items, but luckily Emilie is a great Lolita Detective!
My plan didn’t work out completely as I wanted, so I apologize for the wrinkly bed sheets. >_<

7. Amélie Bear. This is not something I bought, but I wanted to mention it anyway. My mom bought this little bear and called her Amélie. She’s our Paris mascot now. ^^
8. Kyary’s Autograph. Kyary’s autograph is so cute! She really took her time to make it!
9. Little Bird’s Symphonia Tote Bag. Everyone who attended the Angelic Pretty Tea Party received this lovely tote bag! It’s really small, but so adorable.
10. Midori Postcard. Midori signed this for everyone who attended the Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Tea Party. I aksed her to sign something else, so mine is still empty. ^^
11. Midori’s Book Doll Classica. Midori’s style book is so sweet! I’m glad I got the chance to buy it. She shows off her different styles and she looks gorgeous on every picture!
12. Midori’s Autograph. Midori signed my favourite picture of her!
13. Emilie’s Artbook Dentelles&Rubans. Emilie gave me this little book with some of her gorgeous Lolita artwork in it! I am sooo happy with it! She is really talented and I love looking at her paintings!
14. Angelic Pretty Pony Bag. The pony bag I won at the Angelic Pretty Tea Party! It’s so adorable! It’s so soft, I could just hug it every day!
15. Tea Party Pins. Gifts from the Tea Parties. The light blue set is from Angelic Pretty, the dark red set is from Baby. Apparently pins were in this year. ^^
16. Angelic Pretty Name Pin. This pin with my name on it was attached to an envelope I received at the beginning of the Angelic Pretty Tea Party. There was a little bow on it too, but it came off.
17. Tiny Bear. My mom bought us both a tiny bear at a flee market. So cute!

So these are all the things I bought and received. ^^ I am so happy with all of them! Thank you for reading and have a nice day! ♥
